Honey Irani is an illustrious celebrity in the Indian film fraternity. Born on January 17, 1950 in Mumbai, this esteemed screenwriter has wooed the audience several times with some unforgettable movies. Honey is the former wife of poet, lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar and mother of directors Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar.
Honey started working in films as a child artist when she was only two and a half years old. She, along with her elder sister Daisy Irani, became a trendsetter in Hindi cinema with black and curly hair style and loose shirts and half pants. She, as a wide-eyed bubbly child actress, worked in the films like 'Qaidi No. 911' (1959), 'Chirag Kahaan Roshni Kahaan' (1959), 'Pyar Ki Pyas' (1961), 'Soorat Aur Seerat' (1962) and 'Bombay Ka Chor' (1962). During this period, she also did some stage shows. Her acting career of over 72 films also includes some famous movies like 'Kati Patang' (1970), 'Amar Prem' (1971), 'Behroopiya' (1971), 'Seeta Aur Geeta' (1972) and 'Indian Babu' (2003).
Apart from acting, she also assisted famous director Ramesh Talwar in three films, including 'Zamana', 'Duniya' and 'Basera'. In 1991, Honey made her debut as a screenwriter for the film 'Lamhe', which was a huge success and gave a major boost to her career. Honey worked with some renowned film production companies for some well-known movies like 'Parampara' (1992), 'Aaina' (1993), 'Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya' (1997), 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' (2000), 'Kya Kehna' (2000), 'Krrish' (2006) and 'Koi Mil Gaya' (2003).
