IndianOil adjudged as Best Employer Brand in Asia
By Thomas Antony, ED (HRD), Corporate Office
New Delhi, July 29, 2010

IndianOil was conferred with 'Asia's Best Employer Brand Award-2010' recently in Suntec, Singapore. This award is in recognition of IndianOil's continuous endeavour to build a strong employer brand to attract the best talent and to retain them in the Corporation. The Corporation also received recognition for 'Excellence in Training' during the awards ceremony, which was attended by the head honchos of leading companies across Asia and Australia.

Mr. V C Agrawal, Director (HR), was also felicitated for his dedicated and long-standing contribution to developmental HR. Mr. Agrawal implemented a plethora of new concepts in managing HR in IndianOil, among which the E-Performance Management System (e-PMS) deserves a special mention as it has become a benchmark in the industry. Mr. Agrawal also successfully led two mega mergers of IBP and BRPL with IndianOil of which the former has been developed as a model case study for mergers by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

In line with a strong product brand, every organisation requires to have its own identity as an 'Employer Brand'. Like any product brand, the employer brand is also built around three basic premises - functional, economic values and psychological benefits of employment offered by any organisation to its employees. IndianOil has always attempted to build its employer brand on employee value propositions (EVPs), which offer healthy work climate, opportunity for continuous learning & development, growth opportunities, work-life balance etc.
