It has always been a matter of great pride for me to be associated with IndianOil and the people who have nurtured it.
Right from the days of Independence, as the nation’s progress gained momentum, the demand for petroleum products has been rising. For over 50 years now, IndianOil has met the challenge of fulfilling this rising demand. Generations of IndianOilPeople have spent their entire work lives in pursuit of this onerous task, raising this Company to its present stature.
A peek into the past clearly brings out that professional excellence has really been the hallmark of this Company from the very beginning. It is, therefore, no wonder that IndianOil has consistently broken its own performance records by turning in sterling performances year after year. Today, you are the 18th largest petroleum company in the world and lead the charge of Indian corporates in Fortune’s ‘Global 500’ listing.
IndianOil has done India proud not just with its committed efforts in making people’s lives easier in the deep interiors of the country. More so by supporting and assisting the Government in its plans and programmes to ensure equitable distribution of petroleum products and, to the extent possible, insulate the common man from the vagaries of volatile oil prices in the international market.
In a business scenario of constant change, and high turbulence at many times, the one fundamental strength of IndianOil that stood the test of time is its spirit of serving the customers wherever they are, and striving to fulfill their needs and aspirations to their utmost satisfaction.
IndianOil is the only oil marketing company to reach out to far-flung areas, like Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands and inhospitable locations such as Leh and Kargil, where it has set up petrol & diesel stations, bulk storage depots and terminals, LPG bottling plants and aviation fuel stations.
Its presence from Kargil to Kanyakumari, and Kutch to Kohima, clearly demonstrates the pioneering spirit inherent in IndianOilPeople and their commitment to enhancing the quality of life of every Indian.
Therefore, IndianOil’s challenge has been, and will continue to be, making available a diverse mix of energy options at the most competitive cost to its many customers. Price, product quality and timely response will continue to be the ingredients of success.
Even in these changing times, if you continue to serve and satisfy your customers with complete dedication, you can easily outperform competition.
It has indeed been a long and enriching journey of 50 years for all of you at IndianOil, which reminds me of what Winston Churchill once said. And I quote:
“You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb”.
In conclusion, I once again congratulate each member of the IndianOil family and would do my best to encourage you all to continue the excellent work.
I do hope the Golden Jubilee celebrations continue in full festive spirit at all IndianOil locations across Indian and abroad.
Thank You,
Jai Hind.
